Members Who Went Said:I appreciated that Goldstar did not classify this as a family event, even though the promoters did so. I was okay with having my kids there, and many folks did, but I appreciated having a heads up that it would not be a G rated evening. There was much innuendo and word play, but my children also enjoyed it a great deal. It was a good value.
mk a great evening under the stars. the performers were great and really enjoyed the small children acrobats.....had a great time and some wine to go with it. the ford theatre is fantastic....a smaller version of the hollywood bowl.
william vogen Billyjoe086 I thought this event was a great evening out!! My Lady Friend and myself had a wonderful time and will attend additional events at the ford theatre again if possible. Thank You!! |

More Details About This Event: Under the direction of Michelle Hurd, GUSH-E.D. promises extraordinary delights with some of the country’s top circus performers, including Australian ballet and aerial tissu artist Rachel Bowman, breakout aerial duo Cohdi Harrell and Laura Stokes from New Mexico, the Colorado-based rock band Storytyme, the singular clown Mr. Robb from New York and the crowd-pleasing Two Men with Three Balls.
In response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans native and FOCUSfish founder Kristy Beauvais and her husband, Paul, decided to stage a performance extravaganza that would bring kids and families together with professional artists in a community-building celebration to create a magical work of flying, clowning and dance. With enthusiastic community response and raves in the Los Angeles Times, last year’s production, GUSH, tackled the problem of environmental distress; this year’s sequel expands on that theme with an “extra dimension” of hope and healing. About FOCUSfish Flying Circus: FOCUSfish blends traditional circus arts with up-to-date workout techniques to provide high-quality fitness training and community for families, kids and adults in the Los Angeles area. The FOCUSfish program gives participants a chance to swing, juggle, climb and hoop their way to strength and flexibility in a positive, play-based atmosphere. Classes include core-strengthening circus sports and beginner-to-intermediate aerial fitness workouts on the static trapeze, aerial hoop (lyra) and tissu as well as workshops with professional artists in clowning, juggling, hoop dancing, aerial technique and performance. Every year, FOCUSfish also produces a "Flying Circus" with the aim of bringing families, performers and everyday circus people together in a spirit of cooperation and for the sake of building healthy communities. About Ford Amphitheatre: The 1241-seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre is set against a backdrop of cypresses and chaparral in the Hollywood Hills. It is relatively intimate: no patron is more than 96 feet away from the stage. Music, dance, film, theatre and family events are presented during the summer months. The Ford Amphitheatre Season is a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. |
