Award-winning singer and comedienne (and Second City alum) Colleen McHugh brings her powerhouse vocals and trademark humor to The Duplex for the November installment of her monthly Calendar Girl entertainment series.

    Colleen is a jack of all trades, a singer, a writer, actor, and comic.  Since leaving her post at Second City's National Touring Company and moving to New York in 2003, she has appeared on television’s “The Colbert Report", and several comedy sketches on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien".  She is also made her Carnegie Hall debut as a special guest artist in Michael Feinstein's “Now and Then” concert series, and made her Lincoln Center debut at Rose Hall/Jazz at Lincoln Center.

    The Duplex

    The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is a 70-seat off-Broadway venue that features performances of all types nightly. Since their humble beginnings in the 1950s, under the auspices of Hal Holbrook, the Duplex's first booking manager, DCT has served as a jewel in the crown of the NYC cabaret world. Performers such as Barbra Steisand, Woody Allen, Joanne Worley, Lovelady Powell, KT Sullivan, Karen Mason and Lea Delaria all are Duplex alumns. DCT audiences have been lucky enough to catch premiere versions of hits like Nunsense; Hello Muddah! Hello Faddah!; and a slew of other new shows. More recently, DCT has been the venue of choice for The Storefront Theatre's award-winning New Mondays series, featuring new work from composers both up-and-coming and legendary, from Frank Wildhorn to Stephen Schwartz, Charles Strouse to Galt MacDermot, Jason Robert Brown, Michael John LaChiusa, Andrew Lippa and many others. Also, DCT's popular Dowtown Revivals series features one-night-only engagements from the brightest lights on the cabaret circuit.
