Last year millions of tourists visited the Nation's Capitol. During these tough economic times this might be a great time to consider a side job as a tour guide in Washington DC. The spring tour guiding season is intense and can be lucrative for guides who are prepared. This 2 hour session is the first of six classes being held this winter. Each subsequent session will feature an in-depth look at one of the major memorials on the national mall. In this first session, you will spend time discussing the Lincoln Memorial: its history, its symbolism, as well as how to bring a group of tourists through it. You will also discuss the tour guiding season and be provided some basic information on becoming a licensed guide.
This will be the first of several 120-minute seminars on the major monuments and memorials in the city. The spring tourguide season is intense and can be lucrative for guides who are prepared. If you've ever considered picking up a second career as a tourguide or just learning more about our wonderful memorials and monuments, you might consider taking this kick-off seminar at the Lincoln Memorial. This session will be led by successful licensed Washington DC guides.
